I. General Provisions
These terms and conditions (T&C) are applicable to all products and services from IIA Belgium, distributed via:

These conditions apply to all offers, quotations, agreements, sales and performances, and all related actions. These conditions remain in force even if the agreement is not qualified as a purchase. All other general and special terms and conditions as well as stipulations contained in order forms, letters from the client are not in force, unless they have been expressly accepted otherwise in writing by IIA Belgium in advance. Their binding force remains limited to the individual assignment to which they relate.
II. Membership
1. Membership registration confirmation
Your registration for membership will be confirmed by e-mail as soon as the registration has been made. An invoice will be sent to the e-mail address selected by you after registration..
2. Membership period
Full membership fee is due for the calendar year in which you applied for membership (no pro-rata membership fees).
Memberships are active immediately but will be suspended if the payment is not received timely. Suspention of the membership does not mean that amounts are no longer due. Members who join during the calendar year, will pay the full year fee.
All membership levels are set to auto-renew. If you want to change this, then go into your profile and turn the auto-renew off before December 31, (see next item ‘Cancellations’).
3. Cancellations
- Any notice and withdrawal of membership should only be given in advance by year end (in writing and before December 31) for the following year.
- If a memberships’ auto-renew is not disabled before December 31st of the current year, the membership will automatically be renewed for the next calendar year and the invoice is payable.
- Full or partial cancellations of a membership is not possible after online request of a membership.
- Membership is individual and non-transferrable (except for group memberships, see next item).
- For members leaving an Internal Audit group membership in the course of membership year, no reimbursement will be made, but replacements are possible without any additional costs.
- All rights are attached to the party that has paid the membership fee.
- An administration fee of 50 euro excl. VAT. will be charged to individual members who cancel their membership and become member again.
III. Trainings & Events
4. Organization of the training
All trainings are organized at the IIA Belgium Offices unless indicated otherwise. Coffee breaks and lunches are provided for each full day session. The time schedule is from 9 am until 5 pm.
5. Prerequisites
For some training, prerequisites are specified in the description of the program. If you need more details, contact us at training@iiabelgium.org
6. Number of participants
The maximum number of participants varies by training. When subscribing for a training on our website, the system will inform you if the maximum number of participants is reached. It is then no longer possible to subscribe for the training, but the potential participant will be put on a waiting list and informed by IIA Belgium staff if a spot becomes available. People on the waiting list are contacted on a ‘first registered, first contacted’ basis.
7. Content of the training
The content is tailored to the needs of the participants and is in constant evolution. Therefore, IIA Belgium reserves the right to modify the program without prior notification. Supporting documents (slides, readings,..) are distributed to all participants. For some training, books are given.
8. Cancellation / Schedule changes of training by IIA Belgium
At times, it might be necessary to cancel or reschedule training. The IIA will provide advance notice of any change and, in doing so, will not be entitled to indemnities related to the cancelling or rescheduling of training.
9. Registration confirmation
Registration for a training or event is only final after completing the registration process on our website.
You will be notified of your acceptance with a confirmation notice sent to the e-mail address indicated in your IIA Belgium account. An invoice will be sent to the billing address after the registration has been received. It is required that IIA Belgium receives the payment of the invoice prior to the date of training. Persons who did not pay beforehand will not be authorized to attend the training unless they can demonstrate that the payment has been processed.
10. CPE requirements
The IIA Educational programs are accepted for fulfilling Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements. The training programs are also eligible for IDAC/IEC Credits. CPEs certificates will be sent by email automatically no later than 2 weeks after the training.
11. Cancellation by the participants
Cancellation for paid events (trainings, workshops, conferences) must be notified in writing and must be sent by email to info@iiabelgium.org. The following cancellation fees are applicable:
- If cancelled >30 days prior to theevent will receive a full refund.
- If cancelled between one month and two weeks before the event, 25% of the fee is due and payable.
- If cancelled between two weeks and one week before the event, 50% of the fee is due and payable. However, a complete set of documentation will be sent to the participant.
- If cancelled within one week before the event, 100% of the fee is due and payable. However, a complete set of documentation will be sent to the participant.
Each participant may be replaced by a colleague, subject to membership, at no cost as long as the change is confirmed by writing at least 7 days before the training.
Cancellation for free events must be notified in writing and must be sent by email to info@iiabelgium.org. The following cancellation fees are applicable:
- If cancelled within one week before the event, IIA Belgium reserves the right to charge the specific catering costs for the event.
- In case of a no-show, the cost of the catering will be charged, with a minimum amount of 50 euro excl. VAT.
Each participant may be replaced by a colleague, subject to membership, at no cost as long as the change is confirmed by writing at least 7 days before the workshop.
IV. In-house Trainings & Events
12. Scope of Services
IIA Belgium agrees to deliver the in-house training as described in the agreed proposal, which includes topics, duration, format, and any customization specified by the Client. The Client agrees to provide necessary support and facilities to facilitate the training, including but not limited to an appropriate venue, equipment, and materials if required.
13. Fees and Payment
3.1 The fees for the in-house training services will be detailed in the proposal or invoice provided to the Client. All fees are exclusive of VAT and any applicable taxes, which will be added to the invoice if required. A deposit of 100% of the total fee is required upon confirmation of the booking and late payments may incur interest in accordance with applicable laws.
14. Scheduling and Changes
The date and time of the training will be mutually agreed upon by IIA Belgium and the Client. Requests for changes to the training date must be submitted in writing at least 4 weeks prior to the scheduled date. Rescheduling may incur additional fees. IIA Belgium reserves the right to reschedule the training in case of unforeseen circumstances and will work with the Client to find a suitable alternative date.
15. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to IIA Belgium. If the Client cancels the training:
- More than 4 weeks before the scheduled date 100% of the total fee will be refunded.
- Less than 2 weeks before the scheduled date: 50% of the total fee will be refunded.
- Less than 1 week before the scheduled date: The full fee is payable, and no refunds will be issued.
In the unlikely event that IIA Belgium cancels the training, the Client will be entitled to a full refund of any fees already paid.
16. Intellectual Property
All training materials provided by IIA Belgium, including but not limited to presentations, handouts, and digital content, remain the property of IIA Belgium. The Client is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the materials for internal purposes only. The Client may not reproduce, distribute, or share the materials without prior written consent from IIA Belgium.
17. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information disclosed during the training. IIA Belgium will not disclose any information specific to the Client’s business without prior consent, except as required by law.
18. Limitation of Liability
IIA Belgium will use reasonable skill and care in delivering the training services but does not guarantee specific outcomes or results. IIA Belgium’s liability for any claims arising from the training services will be limited to the amount paid by the Client for those services. IIA Belgium will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
V. Products
19. Products ordered from our website
Products can be purchased directly from our website. All prices are including shipping to an address off your choice in Belgium. Items will be shipped within one week after payment receipt.
VI. Certifications
20. Exam registration confirmation
You will be notified of your acceptance with a confirmation notice sent to the e-mail address indicated in your IIA Belgium account. An invoice will be sent to the billing address after the registration has been received. Registration with IIA Inc. (IIA Global) will only be done after IIA Belgium receives the payment of the invoice. Persons who did not pay beforehand will not be registered to take an exam unless they can demonstrate that the payment has been processed.
Access to the Pearson VUE Test Center will be possible after reception of the authorization to test from IIA Inc. The registration is 6 months. After this period, the registration will expire, the registration fee will be forfeited and you will be required to re-register for this exam.
21. Cancellation by the participants
Cancellation for certification exams is not possible after registration.
VII. General
22. Billing address
The invoice is sent to the billing address indicated on our website by the member or to their Group Administrator. Changes in the invoice address after issuing the invoice will be subjected to an administrative fee of 50 euro excl. VAT.
23. Registration with a company purchase order
If a purchase order (PO) is required from your company, we ask you not to purchase a membership, register for an event or buy a product before the purchase order has been issued. PO numbers must be indicated when registering online. Adding or changing a PO number after issuing the invoice will be subjected to an administrative fee of 50 euro excl. VAT.
24. Prices
The members’ prices are valid for IIA Belgium members.
All the prices are stated on the website and are exclusive VAT, unless stated otherwise. The VAT rate applicable is the one at the date of the registration.
Special discounts like an early bird rate or group discount may be applicable and are always clearly indicated on the website. It is the right of IIA Belgium to exclude certain trainings from the discount calculation.
25. Force majeure
If IIA Belgium is permanently unable to execute the agreement because of force majeure, it is entitled to suspend or terminate the agreement without any compensation being due.
26. Legal
Only Belgian law applies to agreements concluded by IIA Belgium. Only the courts of Brussels have jurisdiction, unless the parties amicably agree to submit the dispute to an arbitration committee.
If individual provisions included in the agreement and/or these general terms and conditions lose their effectiveness or binding force in whole or in part, this will have no consequences as to the validity of the other provisions of the agreement or these general terms and conditions. Every invalid provision must be replaced by a valid provision that should approximate the purpose and scope of the invalid provision as closely as possible.
27. Changes to the terms & conditions
IIA Belgium may change its general and special terms and conditions at any time without further notice. Every assignment after a change entails acceptance by the client of the latest version of the conditions.
These terms & conditions come into effect on December 1st, 2024.
