Message from IIABEL
Isabel Derison:
Dear members,
It is with a bit of regret that we announce that Katleen Seeuws will leave IIA Belgium and start a new adventure overseas. We would like to thank Katleen for her dedication and work of the last years, first as a board member, then as president and in the last 2 years as CEO. Thanks to her, IIA Belgium embarked on a new journey with several milestones to be proud of! We can only be thankful that her work for our profession will continue and that she will write the future of our profession in the new IPPF and standards. Please join me in wishing her all the best!
Luckily, we have one of our most dedicated board members taking on the challenge to continue that journey and take our institute and the value for our members to the next level. The Board and I are confident that also Cédric Hamaekers will write history for our institute. Please join me in welcoming Cédric as our new CEO.

Kateleen Seeuws:
Dear members,
I am pleased and excited to announce that I have joined IIA Global as Vice President Standards and Guidance. I am looking forward to take up this new challenge at an important momentum in which the IIA is undertaking an unprecedented IPPF Evolution project to review and revamp the IPPF and the Standards.
This means unfortunately also that I will leave in my position as CEO at IIA Belgium. It was a pleasure to work with our Board, our staff and with you, our members. The past year has been really challenging with our move to our new offices and the organization of the ECIIA Conference. Our Board has been very supportive to make this all a success. Cedric Hamaekers, board member since mid 2021, was one of these active supporters in the ECIIA Conference preparations as well as in other projects we undertook over the past years. That is why I am confident that he will do a great job as new CEO at IIA Belgium! He has all competencies and the ambition to continue to raise the bar for our Institute and to promote our wonderful profession.
All the best and let’s keep in touch!
Kind Regards,
Katleen
Cedric Hamaekers:
Dear members,
Dedication and talent never go unnoticed. These are the two main reasons Katleen was asked to become Vice President, Standards & Guidance at IIA Global. We are sad to see her leave IIABEL but are very happy she stays in the IIA family. It is a small world after all. We had a very successful 2022, with a lot of in-person events and the ECIIA Conference in Brussels as a highlight.
As a Board Member, I was closely involved in many of those initiatives and I am excited to take over Katleen’s role as CEO of IIABEL. Together with the Staff, the Board and you, I want to continue the journey we started to make IIABEL futureproof.
I am looking forward to work with you in 2023 and beyond!
Kind regards,
Cedric
